Cumberland County is one of Maine’s most populous and affluent. Indeed, the seat of the county, Portland, is the most populated city in the state of Maine. This area sits to the south of Androscoggin and to the west of Sagadahoc. Cumberland attracts many tourists with its many recreational and cultural activities. For sports fans, the Portland Sea Dogs, minor-league affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, have their home here. Plenty of shopping awaits the avid consumer with the flagship L.L.
